Former Ferrari CEO Hired by Lotus

Lotus has done some outlandish hiring in it's past. Well, they're at it again and this time they want to compete with Ferrari.

Former Ferrari North America boss Maurizio Parlato has been appointed CEO of the Lotus' U.S. operations. The current CEO of Lotus spent time at Ferrari during his career, and may have even worked with Maurizio Parlato at that time. Lotus has also hired former Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen, who was the 2007 F1 champion.

Parlato will be responsible for strengthening the brand's U.S. presence and dealer network. He is anticipating selling cars that will compete against Ferrari by the means of performance, but at a fraction of the cost. Hopefully we'll be seeing some pretty cool cars coming from Lotus, especially if they're anything like the concept designs they've put out.

(If you could afford it) would you choose a Lotus over a Ferrari if the performance of the Lotus matched that of a Ferrari?
